Shiv Sena Announces candidates, and claims Lok Sabha Seats

Date:

Introduction

Congress employees had been calling Milind Deora, he disclosed, to voice their concerns about an MVA ally asserting a claim to the seat. In Maharashtra, the opposition ‘INDIA‘ bloc’s internal strife is far from done.

On Tuesday, the leaders of MVA are expected to meet in New Delhi to discuss the sharing seats in Mumbai during the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena (UBT), led by Uddhav Thackeray, has gained an early advantage by approving its likely candidates for 23 seats that it plans to contest.

What Shiv Sena Chief say?

We are fighting for 23 seats in the Lok Sabha. According to Shiv Sena (UBT) chief spokesperson Sanjay Raut, “We have applicants for all 23 seats and have given them the go-ahead.”

Their spokesman requested that the Congress begin at zero last week. If that wasn’t enough, yesterday at the ally’s rally in Girgaum, he made a new allegation regarding the Mumbai South seat, according to PTI.

He went on, “We will present our needs for 23 seats at tomorrow’s meeting in Delhi.” In 2019, Shiv Sena (UBT) fought 23 seats and won 18, while the BJP contested 26 while in coalition with the BJP. However, 12 of its current MPs sided with the Shiv Sena, which is currently led by Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, during the uprising in 2022.

Five of the Sena’s current MPs, according to Raut, are probably going to run. They include Rajan Vichare (Thane), Omraje Nimbalkar, Sanjay Jadhav (Parbhani), Vinayak Raut (Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg), and Arvind Swant (Mumbai South).

Gajajan Kirtikar, the MP for Mumbai North-West, became the 13th person to leave the Shinde Sena. Amol Kirtikar, son of Mumbai North-West’s Gajanan Kirtikar, is most likely to run for office with the Thackeray Sena. Raut stated, “We have asked him to get ready for the polls.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) is having trouble recruiting replacements, despite its assurances that it approved all of its likely candidates. It hasn’t publicly revealed its list of likely candidates; instead, it is merely gauging the waters.

Retaliating to Raut, Deora stated, “Sanjay Raut claims that the Shiv Sena is the largest party in the MVA even though it has lost 40 MLAs.” He is proposing that Congress begin seat talks at the beginning. He is discussing the party that leads the opposition and is the largest opposition party in the Maharashtra parliament.

Why is the Cong-Uddhav Sena considering the Mumbai South seat?

Sena (UBT) had originally considered Rahul Kalate, a former corporator, to run for the Maval Lok Sabha seat. However, Kalate has reportedly declined to run and is in contact with Shinde Sena instead.

Raut stated that they believe it would be inappropriate to reveal the names of the likely candidates. “Also, We have candidates to whom we give approvals those are deserving individuals, where they can defeat the opponents,” he declared.

Since 2014, Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant has represented the Mumbai South Lok Sabha seat. When the Sena was united and in agreement with the Bjp, he won the elections.

According to Deora, the constituency has long supported the Congress. The seats were won by Milind Deora in 2004 and 2009. In 1984, 1989, and 1991, his father Murli Deora triumphed in three consecutive elections from this seat.

“Based on the work that we have done and the friendship that has grown over the years, my family has a connection with the voters here,” stated Milind Deora.

For the past 50 years, whether as MPs or not, the Deora family has been providing services to this constituency. Without mentioning current MP Arvind Sawant, he stated, “We were not elected on any wave.”

Is Shiv Sena Give up Key Seats?

Sena (UBT) also decided to cede important seats that it had gained in 2019 despite maintaining a significant presence. Of them, Shirur is one. It had triumphed here three times in a row. Nevertheless, the NCP won the seat in 2019. Amol Kolhe from Shrirur will be fielded by the NCP, and according to our agreement, winning counts. According to Raut, the person who has previously won the seat is eligible to run for it again.

The Sena now requires a formidable candidate in Hatkanangle, in which the Uddhav Sena defeated farm leader Raju Shetti in the 2019 elections. Shetti, who just met Thackeray in Mumbai, would find backing from it.

We are in communication with Shetti. Rather than fielding our candidate, we might endorse his candidacy. We’re still just having discussions. As of right now, nothing can be stated, Raut stated.
