More than 230 “world’s first AI PCs,” including models from Google Chromebook, Acer, ASUS, Dell, Dynabook, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft Surface, MSI, and Samsung, will be equipped with the Intel Core Ultra. A selection of laptops with Intel Core Ultra CPUs will be on sale today.

Except for three that will be on sale in the first quarter of 2024, Intel stated that these Core Ultra processors will be available in over 230 distinct PCs from over 35 PC manufacturers, starting with laptops that are now being shipped. Up to sixteen cores are available in the H-Series, including innovative Low Power Efficient cores for extremely light operations, Performance cores (P-Cores), and efficient cores. The 6P, 8E, and 2LP cores of the top-tier Intel Core Ultra 7 185H processor have a maximum P-Core frequency of 5.1 GHz.

Specialized AI processors and improved integrated Intel Arc GPUs

The new integrated Intel Arc GPU boasts impressive graphics performance, which may eliminate the need for a discrete GPU in some processes, according to Intel experts. Intel states that the Intel Core Ultra 7 165H outperforms the Intel Core i7-1370P, a comparable CPU from the previous generation, in terms of gaming performance by 9% to 100%. 

With a maximum power of 57 W and a base power of 15 W, the Intel Core Ultra U-Series consumes significantly less power. Computer-based technology To do this, it keeps the same number of E and LP cores while reducing the number of P-cores to two. Performance in single-threaded CAD workflows ought to be comparable to the H-Series. 

The integration of AI into laptops is the main goal of Intel Core Ultra, and a 2023 processor launch would not be complete without announcing it. The new chip, according to Intel, features three AI engines: CPU, GPU, and NPU. It is also GenAI-ready. To extend battery life, the NPU is built for long-term AI tasks and AI offloading. 

The business also unveiled the Intel Evo Edition laptop, which boasts faster charging, quick wake support, cooler operation, and up to 10 hours of real-world battery life between charges. 

In the 5th generation Intel Xeon processors, a high-speed CPU with up to 64 CPU cores, and improved AI performance are among the other significant announcements made by Intel AI Everywhere. Last but not least, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger hinted at the upcoming Intel Gaudi3 AI Accelerator, which is designed for deep learning and large-scale generating AI models and will launch early next year.
